Department of Surgery-Nurse Practitioner Opportunity
Waterbury Health is seeking a full-time Surgical Nurse Practitioner for the Complex Surgical Oncology program, at the Waterbury Hospital Department of Surgery Quinnipiac University Frank H Netter MD School of Medicine Waterbury Hospital General Surgery Residency Program in Waterbury, Connecticut.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Department of Surgery in developing a new Complex Surgical Oncology program which includes, , Hepatic Pancreatic and Biliary Surgery, Upper GI Surgery, Cytoreductive and HIPEC Surgery, and , Colorectal Surgery. Will coordinate and provide care for patients across the disciplines by establishing an effective communication interface. Will provide direct care to patients with HPB/GI needs, including initial evaluations, preparation of patients for surgery through education and pre-operative work-up, outpatient post-operative care and symptom management. Will assist in development of process improvement and quality indicators to help assure best practice standards. Will assist with development of research and track outcomes.
Requirements: CT Licensed APRN candidates. Must have excellent communication and team facilitation skills. We will train the right candidate, so new graduates are welcome to apply.
